a bit about me
I’m a writer, podcaster and photographer. I’m on a journey to live life at a gentler pace, to forge my own path, and to focus on those things that truly bring me joy.
In 2015 I met the man who would later become my husband. Chris is a completely blind woodturner. Now we live in a small village in the Peak Park area of Derbyshire with Chris’ German Shepherd Guide Dog, Bamber.
I left my dayjob in 2019 to pursue my dream of a creative life, living on my terms and at a gentler pace.
All about finding alternative ways to live and work, both in harmony with the seasons and cycles of nature, and kinder to us and the planet, A Gentler Pace is about being true to yourself and what you value.
Over the past 12 months I’ve embraced these values but sometimes been distracted and reverted to the old way of doing things. Living at a gentler pace is part reminder for me and an exploration of how we can adopt habits and daily routines to bring us greater overall joy in our lives.
I’m one of those people described in Barbara Sher’s book Refuse to Choose. I’m a scanner, a multipassionate, not easily pigeon holed. I’m interested in so many different and often diametrically opposed pursuits.
I’m unconventional, quirky and live outside the circle (some might call this eccentric).
what I value
oneness ~ I believe life’s challenges have the potential to be a catalyst for each of us to find our way home, but also to recognise that we all originate from the same source, leading us to acknowledge that we are all one. When, individually, we understand this, we will have the power to create a revolution around the world.
the unconventional life ~ I’ve always preferred the road less travelled. I’ve been called eccentric and quirky. I value the freedom to live life on my terms and not follow the crowd. I’m a Provocateur and my default setting is to challenge the status quo and look for alternatives. I’m a quiet rebel.
creativity and flow ~ I believe creativity provides the route to our essential selves, to our souls, to our essence, and connects us to the divine. It’s through our creative pursuits that we can find our flow and access our own wisdom. It’s in flow that our dreams take root and we tap into the universal mind.
living seasonally ~ my dream is to embrace a simpler way of life, aligned with the seasons. I want to spend time outdoors every day to watch the year unfold, and to nurture my connection to nature. I believe nature holds the answers and shows us the best way to take care of the planet.
