a bit about me
I’m a writer, podcaster and photographer. I’m on a journey to live life at a gentler pace, to forge my own path, and to focus on those things that truly bring me joy.
In 2015 I met the man who would later become my husband. Chris is a completely blind woodturner. Now we live in a small village in the North of England with Chris’ German Shepherd Guide Dog, Bamber. Later this year we will be relocating to the Peak Park area of Derbyshire.
I left my dayjob in 2019 to pursue my dream of a creative life, living on my terms and at a gentler pace. Initially, I set up a venture called Seed to Source. All about adopting a different pace of life and work, it was also about being true to yourself and what you value.
Seed to Source has recently evolved into A Gentler Pace to reflect a way of living that is more in harmony with the seasons and cycles of nature, and which is kinder to us and our planet.
Over the past 12 months I’ve embraced these values but sometimes been distracted and reverted to the old way of doing things. Living at a gentler pace is part reminder for me and an exploration of how we can adopt habits and daily routines to bring us greater overall joy in our lives.
I’m one of those people described in Barbara Sher’s book Refuse to Choose. I’m a scanner, a multipassionate, not easily pigeon holed. I’m interested in so many different and often diametrically opposed pursuits.
I’m unconventional, quirky and live outside the circle (some might call this eccentric).

I’m also on Patreon where I share writing, podcasts and photography around the theme of living at a gentler pace.
I love writing and will be sharing my own progress on Patreon, how I’m embracing life at a gentler pace, and what I learn along the way. Part of this involves spending more time outdoors, in nature, with my camera. I’ll be posting my favourite photos and making some available, each month, as postcards.
I’ve discovered podcasting in the last year, too, and I really enjoy talking about my day to day life, and the themes that run through it. We’re on the move in the next few months and will be going to live in Derbyshire. There will be lots of updates and, once we’ve moved, I’ll be traveling around the Peak District and taking you along with me.
I hope you’ll join me in embracing a gentler pace of life.
You can also support my work by buying me a coffee! My favourite beverage!
what I value
oneness ~ I believe life’s challenges have the potential to be a catalyst for each of us to find our way home, but also to recognise that we all originate from the same source, leading us to acknowledge that we are all one. When, individually, we understand this, we will have the power to create a revolution around the world.
the unconventional life ~ I’ve always preferred the road less travelled. I’ve been called eccentric and quirky. I value the freedom to live life on my terms and not follow the crowd. I’m a Provocateur and my default setting is to challenge the status quo and look for alternatives. I’m a quiet rebel.
creativity and flow ~ I believe creativity provides the route to our essential selves, to our souls, to our essence, and connects us to the divine. It’s through our creative pursuits that we can find our flow and access our own wisdom. It’s in flow that our dreams take root and we tap into the universal mind.
living seasonally ~ my dream is to embrace a simpler way of life, aligned with the seasons. I want to spend time outdoors every day to watch the year unfold, and to nurture my connection to nature. I believe nature holds the answers and shows us the best way to take care of the planet.
